Our UHP-FB-LED product line uses the brightest and most powerful LED chips to create ultra-high-power fiber-coupled LED light sources. The LED chip's large area and excellent heat dissipation allow for optimal light coupling with fiber cores of 1mm or larger. We offer two types of standard fibers: 1mm glass fibers for the highest power performance and 1mm (and 1.5mm) Polymer Optical Fiber (POF) for maximal convenience in use as these fibers are much more flexible and convenient in use than glass fibers. Please see the section optical specifications below for the output power for each wavelength and fiber type.

The UHP-FB-LED light source comes with a high current driver, thermal management, and advanced control features all in a single metal enclosure box. The integration of the high-power LED and the driver into a single enclosure also eliminates electromagnetic (EMI/RFI) noise to other instruments in the laboratory.

The product can be used as a standalone with maximum power preset or can be controlled through an Analog Input BNC connector for the power setting. Fast pulsing is provided through the TTL Input BNC connector. Both TTL and Analog inputs are Opto-Isolated to eliminate any ground loop in the experimental setting. Additionally, the output power can be controlled by a wired remote controller or from a computer through a USB interface box.

UHP-FB-LED Control Options

Prizmatix offers several types of control options for the UHP-FB-LED. The standard product can be used without any external device simply by switching the main switch the LED will operate at maximum power (see Configuration A below).

The standard product has TTL and Analog Inputs, both opto-isolated. These inputs can be used for creation of fast pulses and for power control (see Caonfigurations B, C below).

The CTRL-F control unit enable convienent manual control of UHP-FB-LED power from maximum to off (see Configuration D below). For control of the power from computer we offer UHP-F-USB a small interface box which enables Windows or Mac to control the light source over USB. Software is freely avalible at Prizmatix website. API is availie upon request (see Configuration E below).

The CTRL-F and UHP-F-USB can be connected in chain so user can operate the LED manaully and from computer without a need to disconnect and reconnect cables (see Configuration F below).

If UHP-FB-LED need to operate in Pulsed mode the Fuction Generator can be used with any of describer power control options, so the intensity of the pulses can be controller through CTRL-F or UHP-F-USB or eben by Analog input. (as example see Configuration G below).

Basic On/Off - mimics the standard lamp. The UHP-FB will work at maximum current.

Additionally, to configuration A: a Function generator can be connected to the TTL input of UHP-FB to create fast pulses.

Additionally, to configuration B: The LED current can be controlled through an Analog Input BNC connector. The analog signal can be, for example, from a USB D/A module.

The LED current can be manually controlled through CTRL-F. A small, wired console with a potentiometer that sends I2C control signals to the UHP-FB

The LED current can be controlled from a computer by UHP-F-USB interface. Control software for PC or Mac is provided. API is available upon request.

Configurations D and E can be combined to create versatile control. Manual and computerized at the same time.
